About Our Farm
Alpaca and Cattle Farm
Moondai Farm is a local, family-run farm that has a mix of cattle and alpacas producing a variety of quality items.

It was originally established circa the 1800s as a milk-producing farm and guest house for visitors to the area. The changing of ownership over the years has also shaped the property into many different uses such as the first trout hatchery and golf course in the area.

Over the years the farm has continued to evolve and adapt in order to keep up with the changing market demands. The last 30 years saw it being a medium-sized alpaca farm with a B&B, but sadly the Black Saturday fires burned down most of the historic buildings and the rebuild still continues.

Moondai farm is currently closed to the public but continues to produce world-class Angus beef for our local market and worldwide export. The beef cattle are managed by another local family who have successfully bred cows for over 60 years.

Alpaca breeding is the new focus and plans are to maintain a small, quality herd with premium fleece.
